Hi there,
I'm trying to get healthy and I think bouldering could be right up my alley. What kind of classes do you offer?

Jonathan,

It's wonderful to hear you are getting back in shape to climb again! We do have novice boulder problems. We have a few different wall angles that all cater to a beginner, and we try to keep easy routes up all year round. You can also use the general work out equipment or the treadwall, which are obviously great for getting back into shape. Congrats on getting better, and hope to see you on a Tuesday night soon.

I used to do a lot of climbing (outdoor) in the area, but never got too into bouldering. The last 8 years I was on dialysis as I awaited a kidney transplant, and lost all of my climbing "chops." After a year with open-heart surgery and a new kidney transplant, I'm finally healthy enough to get back into something, and drop the prednisone-pounds that accumulate post transplant. I'd really like to get back into climbing, and am looking for a place where I can workout at my own pace, knowing that it's going to take awhile to get back into shape. Do you have a lot of problems for the novice or person whose just out of climbing shape? Would you recommend any supplemental types of training to aid in getting back up to climbing ability? I'm excited to start again, and just need some guidance. Thanks!

Renee,

That sounds like a great idea. Tuesday evenings from 6-10 is an open guest night at the gym. Feel free to come by with 10 dollars each to celebrate and climb all night. Enjoy the Metrodash!

A group of friends and I want to try rock climbing as a fun outing one night. We all workout regularly, some have done climbing before; we just want to mix it up and celebrate after doing the Metrodash. Any good times to come take a class as guests?

Hillary,

I forwarded your message on to Mercedes. Would love to have you join a training session, you can also contact us directly at denverboulderingclub@gmail.com.

We do offer beginner lessons, and for that, I also forwarded your note on to Thomas Betterton, he is a great teacher, and will steer you right.

Hope to see you at the gym soon,

Lee

Missy,

We don't have any formal classes for kids learning to rock climb. If you're kids are really into bouldering, they could certainly get a lot out of our club's community training atmosphere, but if you're looking for more of an introductory lesson, then I would recommend contacting either ROCK'n & JAM'n or Thrillseekers. They are both local gyms that could help you out.
