Denver Bouldering Club
The best rock climbing in DenverNew Member Media
It’s great to see everyone out in the mountains this time of year!!!
Members are still making all sorts of news…Daniel Woods and Angela Payne at the Outdoor Retailer Trade Show Comp, Asher Shay-Nemirow at Lincoln Lake and RMNP.
But even cooler is the list of DBC member’s adding to climbing media. Mebers like John Gass, Chuck Fryberger, Lee Payne, Kelly McBride, and Matt Lloyd, have been running blogs or more for a while, but we welcome the new player, Ivelin Penchev, with his site at www.lovechclimbing.com
Bonus Media: Lots of member crushing on film over at www.iclimb.com as well!
We Can Stop Diabetes
The Denver Bouldering Club is proud to organize a team for the upcoming American Diabetes Association (ADA) 5K walk/run on Saturday, Oct 23 8am – 1pm.
We’ve decided to support the ADA because so many people are facing a future with this life threatening disease. Diabetes is already effecting an estimated 7.8% of the United States, and according to the CDC, if current trends continue, 1 in 3 Americans will develop diabetes sometime in their lifetime.
We’ve already made great progress in this fight. From insulin to better testing to diet and exercise, we’re moving in the right direction. However, a lot about the disease still defies explanation. Perfectly healthy people are diagnosed every day, and the numbers keep climbing.
For this reason, we would like to ask for your help raising funds for the American Diabetes Association. You have the option of either joining the team and coming to the walk, or simply donating to any of the walkers on our team.
Here is a link to the DBC’s ADA page, set up by Thomas Betterton. There you can sign up or donate.
And here is an article that contains some interesting background info on the fight against diabetes. For more information on the ADA, please visit diabetes.org.
